Greatest Love Story of my life
Monday, February 2, 2009 marked my grandparent's 64th wedding anniversary.
Grandma told us yesterday that Grandpa proposed through a letter. He was out in California serving in the Army Air Force. He had written to Grandma asking her to marry him. I'm not sure how she got her "YES" back to him but obviously she did say "Yes". Grandpa had apparently preplanned all of this, because he left the engagement ring with his mother back home (I guess he knew what Grandma's answer would be). After the wedding in Kansas City, KS, they traveled out to California were they stayed for about a month before Grandpa was shipped to Canada and Grandma came back home to live until Grandpa got out of the service.
Yesterday, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 we lost the most wonderful, soft spoken, kind hearted, gentlemen I've ever known. You are so loved. We miss you terribly. I love you Grandpa.
