Miracles

So I've spent the better part of my weekend in Columbia at the hospital with my family. My grandma had an infection somewhere that was causing a high fever... Friday & Saturday the doctors just pumped her full of antibiotics, hoping that something would break her fever. They couldn't ever pinpoint the infection though. This morning at 5am we got a call saying that the doctors had pretty much given up and they were just going to "keep her comfortable". So needless to say, all day we sat in the hospital just waiting for the Lord to take her. We even joked a few times that Grandpa was up in heaven saying "C'mon Margaret, I've almost got ya back". Grandma was so coherent all day though... She even said "Don't be sad" "I'm ready to go be with Grandpa, he's been without me for too long". Can you believe it?? Her faith is so strong. Her love for her family and the life she has lived is amazing. She just kept twirling her wedding ring and telling us that "it's okay". That's just like her... Comforting US when she's the one laying in a hospital bed. She even grabbed my hand today, told me it was cold, and then rubbed it to warm me up.

After a long morning, there was really no change in her condition. She was just on oxygen, morphine, and a saline drip. The boys and I decided to come on home so they could pack up and head back to Springfield. Then at 5pm Dad calls and said "You're not going to believe this". Grandma was sitting up in here bed, she had had something to eat, taken a bath, had her hair washed and was joking around!!! What a miracle!!! Praise the Lord!! My grandma is an amazing woman and she continues to prove how strong she is, even when the doctors have given up.

It's just not her time yet... Now tomorrow, who knows?
