Remember this when it happens in this country
An economics professor at Texas Tech University , Lubbock , TX said
he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an
entire class.
The majority of that class had insisted that socialism worked and that no
one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The
professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on
socialism.
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so
no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the
grades were averaged, everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were
upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second
test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less
and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they
studied little. The second Test average was a D! No one was happy. When
the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F. The scores never
increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings
and no one would study for anyone else. All failed to their great surprise
and the professor told them that socialism would ultimately fail because
the harder to succeed the greater the reward but when a government takes
all the reward away, no one will try or succeed.

You really know how to bum a guy out...whatever happened to just thinking about the fun things in your life and putting everything else on a back burner.
Did you get this in an e-mail forward from your uncle?
Seriously...this is bullshit.
So is socialism...but still. Nobody is trying to turn the USA into a socialist country. You need to go back to school if you think Obama is trying to do this.
Obama is even more centrist than BILL CLINTON was in the 90's. He's trying to please the right so much that it's pissing the left off!
What Obama is TRYING to do is fix the serious problems with our healthcare system that have been present since the 80's when Reagan screwed it all up. He was a good prez, don't get me wrong, but he messed up some shit. Clinton failed at trying to fix it, Bush promised to fix it but never did, and now Obama is trying to follow through with a campaign promise.
He was very welcoming to Republican ideas (even saying he would cast out the public option if something better could be planned), which has earned him much respect from Dems and the GOP alike, but in the end he's got a job to do. MILLIONS of Americans have lost their health insurance in the past year due to the economy tanking because of Bush's "hands-off" economic policies.
A free-market is an almost-perfect market. We need some watchdogs though - to make sure the stupid, greedy pigs don't steal from the working class. That's what happened under Bush. Obama is backpedaling a bit - but not too much. If you actually pay attention to what he's doing you would know this. Fox News is just gonna talk about his damn birth certificate. Do some research yourself for once!
In my opinion, you can tell how "hands off" a politician is by how much spending they propose. More spending typically = more government intervention in the market and redirecting the money to select interest groups. Bush was a big spender and Obama is a big spender.
Perhaps we should be asking ourselves why prices are going up in health care... might have something to do with the increase in the money supply and the government funneling the new money into Medicare, the insurance companies, and the drug companies?
